9.3.1 Number of university spin offs
Innovation & Incubation Center has achieved remarkable results with its resident companies, connecting resources from industry, government, and academia.
Established in 1998 in response to the incubation policy of the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ Small and Medium Enterprises Administration, our university’s Innovation Incubation Center has nurtured a total of 52 incubated companies and 21 startup incubated companies. Nearly 30 incubated companies have graduated from the center, assisting these businesses in obtaining government subsidies and project loans totaling 10 cases. The center has also accumulated 24 patent achievements and has helped companies with entrepreneurial investments and capital increases, reaching NT$600 million in 2023.
Establishment of the “ College of Interdisciplinary Industry Academia Innovation “
In 2023, our school was approved by the Ministry of Education to establish the “College of Interdisciplinary Industry Academia Innovation” in accordance with the “Regulations on Industry-Academia Cooperation and Talent Cultivation in Key National Areas.” This institute combines the research capabilities of the College of Technology and Engineering, the College of Science, and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, along with the support of 12 enterprises. It has set up the “AI Interdisciplinary Application Research Institute” and the “Green Energy Technology and Sustainable Governance Research Institute.” Through a mechanism of cooperation among industry, government, and academia, we aim to bring students closer to industry needs, enhance their competitiveness in the job market, and cultivate the talents that the nation requires.

9.4.1 Research income from industry and commerce
In 2023, the amount of collaboration funding between the government and non-governmental organizations exceeded 300 million New Taiwan Dollars.
The collaboration between our school and non-governmental organizations has significantly increased over the past three years. In 2021, the total amount of industry-university cooperation reached approximately NT$187.98 million, followed by around NT$232.84 million in 2022, and exceeding NT$300 million in 2023, with a total of approximately NT$368.63 million. Our school actively engages with the industrial and commercial sectors by organizing technology matchmaking and exchange activities that showcase our research and development achievements. This collaboration enables faculty and industry partners to jointly implement cooperation plans and facilitate technology transfer agreements. Additionally, our school offers comprehensive, one-stop services. We provide matchmaking and customized industry-university services to collaboratively develop new application markets, accelerate the value-added transformation of industries, and encourage the business community to join our school’s industry-university alliance as members.
